Design Accessibility
As a designer, it is very important that you are making content that is accessible for all. In regards to this you want to make sure that you’re following the WCAG guidelines. By following these you ensure that all people will be able to enjoy and understand your website. Whether the accessibility is for a client or a client’s customer, ensuring the understanding of the content on hand is the most important piece.
Applying WCAG To Design
When applying the WCAG, and following the standards, we want to make sure we are hitting the main points. By ensuring that the website is tactile, will help with the overall understanding of the information. Applying auditory applications will help with those who can’t hear well or even at all. As an example we can think of the closed captions on a video. Making sure that a website visually applies the WCAG standard is very important. Finally we look at navigation. With navigation, we want to make sure that all of the links and resources are accessible for all. These are just some of the main guidelines that we want to follow when making a website that is accessible to all.
